This was the first attempt by Tripp Faison of Over Water Clothing. He just took the original line drawing by Paul and made it into a stencil.
And we couldn't just have the Robo Bee all lonesome so we added some circuit-like honeycombs.

I found this image online and included it along with many other images of bees, wasps, hornets, and other stingy insects in a stack of reference material that I gave to several tattoo artist friends. I asked them to create some bees for my knees. Click picture for enlargement.
